2019 Year in Review

2019 was an extraordinarily busy year as we closed 24 special situation transactions across a broad range of industries and verticals including healthcare, metals and steel, consumer products, technology, textiles, manufacturing, bio/pharmaceutical, wholesale distribution, energy, food service, retail and business services. Using creative solutions for M&A advisory, capital raises and restructuring engagements, we turned complex situations into positive transactions that maximized value for all stakeholders, saved jobs, positioned companies for success, and created the best possible outcomes for our clients. Through it all, SSG responded with the experienced people, effective process and established networks that delivered the proven results in the investment banking transactions listed below.

Many deals were a collective effort, and we were pleased to partner with a variety of other firms and professionals to find pathways to success for companies at a crossroads. We look forward to working with them and our global network of resources in 2020.

2019 PROMOTION AND HIRES

Congratulations to Neil Gupta on his promotion to Managing Director at SSG Capital Advisors. Neil joined SSG in 2011 and has been a significant contributor to the success of the firm. During his tenure he has led or participated on more than 75 deal teams in a wide variety of special situations transactions.

Neil’s professional experience, combined with his professional designation as a CFA Charterholder and Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) gives him a diverse skill set to draw upon in serving clients. He is frequently called upon to participate on panels for industry groups and shares his expertise through authoring articles. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the TMA and the Board of Directors for the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. Neil received The M&A Advisor’s 8th Annual Emerging Leaders Award in 2017 and was included in the prestigious 2018 Top 50 Americas Rising Dealmaker list by the Global M&A Network.
